  • Jiddo Sheikh Tewfic  was a scholar, a religious leader, a scientist, a top international business man, an inventor, and an industrialist who could combine all these qualities, to serve his society, a benefactor, who started the first philanthropic school in Ein Elmreisseh, and later on the Makassed organization who became the leading educational institution to cover all parts of Lebanon. 
    
    He had a "Zawiya in Beirut" which indicates his high religeous and social recognition.
    
    He established and owned the school called: "House of Sciences" (Madrasat Dar Al Oulum").
